Contents

This is an introductory course to "Comparative Politics" covering research questions, concepts, theories, and methods of comparative politics as well as empirical studies in the field. This includes, inter alia, typologies of political systems, types of democracies, research on democratization and democracy as well as on political culture. Moreover, the course introduces students to the logic of theory-guided empirical research, with a focus on methods of comparison. The course complements the lecture “Introduction to Comparative Politics”.
